Shea Darian

Shea Darian is a writer and grief educator. She has worked as a chaplain, Minister Through the Arts, Minister of Worship, and spiritual director specializing in small groups. 

Shea earned her M.Div. at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and B.A. in Speech Communications and Theater at Iowa State University. She is an award-winning author of books on family spirituality, including Sanctuaries of Childhood: Nurturing a Child’s Spiritual Life; Living Passages for the Whole Family: Celebrating Rites of Passage from Birth to Adulthood; and Seven Times the Sun: Guiding Your Child Through the Rhythms of the Day. Her new book, Doing Grief in Real Life: Navigating Passages of Grief, Death & Change is scheduled to be published in 2021. 

Shea is a member of The Church of the Palms in Sun City, Arizona and a Member in Discernment in the Southwest Conference UCC. She enjoys racewalking, writing poetry, singing, and songwriting. Shea is the mother of two adult children, Morgan and Willa, and lives with her spouse Andrew and dog Barrington in Sun City.
